Sail MORE – What does it mean?

Sail MORE – What does it mean?

Santana4Our goal at Desert Wind Sailboats is to help 1,000,000 people Sail MORE. Why Sail MORE? Because we see the positive effects that sailing has on people everywhere.  From kids that grow and gain self confidence to families that cruise together and take that team attitude off the water with them.

We believe that sailing teaches life lessons. Teamwork, leadership, followership,  cleanliness, respect for others, ingenuity, patience, self reliance, the list goes on… We want to share sailing with everyone we encounter so they can also benefit from what it has to offer. The more often you can go sailing, the more of these lessons you learn.

It has also been proven that in order to develop mastery of a skill, 10,000 hours of practice are required. Think about that for a moment, and let me do the math for you. That would be 8 hours a day for 5 years. If you truly want to master something and understand it in your bones, whether it is coding, or music, or sailing, you must practice 10,000 hours. (Outliers, Malcom Gladwell.) So when we say “Sail MORE” you are developing those mastery skills.

So some people say “Sail Fast” and that’s fine. But what we want to do is help you Sail MORE! Enjoy your time on the water! Enjoy MORE time on the water and it will give back to you all that you put into it and more. Sail MORE!
